Suddenly, I realized that all of my magazine subscriptions have expired. This left me wondering if I should renew what I had before or if I should try some new ones.
What magazines do you subscribe to or purchase on a regular basis? Why do you like them? What ones don't you like and why?? Please help me to decide how to best spend my subscription money.

I love Interweave Knits and have subscribed for several years. They have a great selection of patterns. This is one magazine that I couldn't do without.

After years of all the knitting magazines, one by one I let them go. They tend to constant repeats.
ReplyDeleteI kept the Vogue Knitting Magazine as it is up date on fashion.
Seems like Interweave and Vogue are the two best. What about Knitters. It seems a little dated
ReplyDeleteI don't have a single subscription. I buy a magazine as needed (usually once a season) based on which seems to be the one I'd most likely knit from. It saves a lot of money. I always take 10 minutes and flip through the magazines at Barnes and Noble and if I see something fabulous, I buy it. If I don't, then I know I'm not missing out. I don't feel guilty - I'm seeing at least as much advertising this way as actual articles.
ReplyDeleteAnother option is a share- if you are in a knitting group or have a good friend that knits, you can each buy one subscription and exchange after a week or two.
Try this: Lay one of each subscription on the kitchen table, pull out the ones you wouldn't miss first, then eliminate until you have your two picks. Then either pick number 1 or eenie, meenie, miney mo. In the end it isn't what WE like best, it is what YOU like best. If you miss the other one, then you know what to order in 2013.
I've had a hard time choosing too. I finally decided on Verena Knitting. It always has at least 3 patterns I like. I used to have Vogue, but gave it up as I felt like it lost its creativity.
